"I am Charlot !"
For those who have the eye and follow my work, I had some time ago a version in India ink: it was a study to see if this style worked and lay the foundations.
This is part of my novelties for the 2017-2018 season: I apply my technique of pop-art in black and white to give even more relief and suggest the old photography, and here is the very first example of this work.
The original photo is from the beginning of 1918, Charlie Chaplin is 28 years old. He receives thousands of letters from admirers, is paid a fortune and has not yet shot any of his masterpieces: "The Kid", "The Gold Rush", "Modern Times" or "the dictator". In reality, the actor did better than that: he invented a character. More than a character, a concept, a myth. His success will be dazzling. So much so that the character invented by Charlie will become a term designating someone that can not be taken seriously, a term most appropriate for many modern policies (and others).
"I am Charlot": I do not know anything, but I will say everything !
